About Hark Therapy
“I care deeply about mental health and believe that counselling should be both accessible and affordable for anyone who needs it. My hope is that Hark Therapy provides a gentle, supportive space for people to reconnect with themselves and move towards healing.”
Hello, I’m Catherine, and I’m here to help you.
I live in Alton, Hampshire with my young family, and I am passionate about creating a safe and calming space where people feel truly heard. My journey into counselling began long before I ever trained as a therapist. Like many of my clients, I have faced my own mental health challenges and reached out for counselling when I needed someone to talk to. Those experiences changed the course of my life. It was this personal transformation that led me to want to support others navigating similar struggles.
I know how daunting it can feel to take that first step. I appreciate the courage it takes to reach out for help, and I aim to meet every client with compassion, patience, and understanding.
After many years working in Marketing, I decided to follow my heart and retrain. Three years of study later, I qualified as a Counsellor — and Hark Therapy was born.
Since then, I have had the privilege of supporting clients through some of the most challenging and painful times in their lives. This includes experiences with grief and loss, post-natal depression, trauma, anxiety, shame, and periods of feeling stuck or overwhelmed.
I have also volunteered with two charities — Butterflies and The Bereavement Counselling Charity (TBCC) — giving me invaluable experience supporting people in moments of crisis and deep emotional pain.
